The “Maverick Goals for Kids” campaign, a program in which Minnesota State Men’s Hockey and Earl Johnson Furniture have combined forces, has raised more than $3660 in the past two years for local youth hockey.
“The Goals for Kids program seemed a natural fit for us,” said Todd Johnson, owner and president of Earl Johnson Furniture. “I guess first of all, from having a kid involved with MAHA, we’re familiar with the organization. And from a business standpoint, we’re always looking for community-involvement opportunities. This was something in which we could be involved with youth sports and the Mavericks in a unique fashion and this is something we’re excited about.
”MSU head coach Troy Jutting credited Johnson with his willingness to support the program.
