Hockey helmets recalled by Reebok-CCM

Nearly 1,000 hockey helmets distributed by Reebok and CCM are being recalled due to head and neck injury hazards.

WASHINGTON -- The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced on Tuesday they had full cooperation with Reebok-CCM Hockey U.S. Inc, of Vermont with the recall.

The helmet's chinstrap can unexpectedly disengage while in use. If that happens, the helmet can fall off posing a head and neck injury risk to consumers.

There have been no injuries reported at this time.

The recall involves RBK and CCM brand hockey helmets. Helmets included in this recall have an HECC sticker with date code JUNE - 2013. HECC stickers and model numbers are located on the back of the helmets.

The recalled helmets were sold from May 2008 through July 2008 for between $80 and $200.

Consumers should stop using the helmets and return them where they were purchased.
